These terms govern your use of LeadScout (the "Service"), operated by Minor Tangent Studios LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
LeadScout produces prospect research reports ("Scouts") for freelancers and small agencies. You give us a company name and, optionally, a website, links and notes. We research publicly available information with automated tools and AI models and return a report in the app, and optionally by email or webhook. You can also connect an intake form or inbound webhook so that leads submitted by others create Scouts automatically.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details and any authenticator device secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person gets one free Scout. Creating extra accounts to collect more free Scouts is not allowed, and we may remove those credits or accounts.
- Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Credits and payment
- Each Scout uses one credit. Credits are bought in packs through Stripe at the price shown at checkout. Credits never expire.
- All purchases are final. We don't offer refunds for credit packs, whether used or unused, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
- If a Scout fails, we return its credit to your balance automatically. Credits are not redeemable for cash.
- If your account is deleted, or closed by us for breach of these terms, unused credits are forfeited.
- Prices and packs may change. A change doesn't affect credits you have already bought.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Taxes may be added where required.
- If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@getleadscout.io before disputing the charge so we can fix it quickly.
4. AI-generated content: check before you rely on it
Reports are generated by automated systems from public web content. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and may misdescribe a business or a person. Treat them as a starting point for your own judgment, verify anything important before acting on it or repeating it to a prospect, and don't use a report as the sole basis for a legal, financial, employment, housing, insurance or credit decision. We provide no guarantee of accuracy, completeness or results.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use the Service to harass, stalk, defraud, discriminate against or surveil anyone;
- research private individuals for non-business purposes, or use reports to make eligibility decisions about people;
- send spam or unlawful marketing using what the Service produces. You are responsible for complying with anti-spam, privacy and marketing laws (such as CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR and PECR) when you contact prospects;
- probe, attack or overload the Service, bypass rate limits, CAPTCHAs or credit checks, or access another account;
- submit content designed to manipulate or attack the AI systems or the pages we read (for example prompt injection), or try to extract our prompts or models;
- point webhooks or links at internal, private or third-party systems you don't control;
- resell or redistribute the Service itself, or build a competing product from its output at scale.
We may suspend or end access, without refund, if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken.
6. Intake forms and webhooks (information about other people)
If you embed an intake form or share an inbound webhook, the people who submit it are your leads, not ours. You are responsible for telling them how their information is used (including that it is processed by LeadScout and its service providers to research their business), for having a lawful basis to collect it, and for responding to their requests. For that data we act on your instructions as your service provider, under our Data Processing Addendum, which is part of these terms.
7. Your content and ours
- You keep ownership of what you put in (your profile, services, notes, lead data). You give us permission to store, process and transmit it, including to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to run the Service for you.
- As between you and us, you may use the reports you receive for your own business. Reports may include third-party material and quotations with citations, and rights in those stay with their owners.
- We own the Service, its software, design and branding. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use it under these terms.
- If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (for example hosting, AI model, web research, payment and email providers). Their outages or changes can affect the Service, and we aren't responsible for their acts. Reports link to or quote websites we don't control.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and it may change or be discontinued. If we permanently discontinue the Service we will give at least 30 days' notice and a chance to use your remaining credits.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. This permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy and forfeits unused credits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or create risk for the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) do.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
12. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service or of the reports, or the lead data and content you submit.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may seek urgent injunctive relief anywhere. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept them.
